Description
Based on a Torah from R' Yoinasan David - Reshimas Mesibos Purim. Purim & Yom Kippur, according to the Vilan Ga'on, are two halves of a unit called "Yom Ke'Purim." Half for Hashem and half for us. Yom Kippur is the day to reconcile with Hashem, and Purim is the day to reconcile with other Jews through the two mitzvos of mishlo'ach manot and matanos le'evyonim. Lifnei Hashem is also a place within ourselves; it is completely connected to the Knesses Yisrael (the collective Jewish soul), which is connected to the Sh'chinah. The days of the year when Jews feel a tremendous need to be together with other Jews. On Yom Kippur we can't purify ourselves lifnei Hashem until we work it out with other Jews. Mordechai and Esther's purpose was to gather Jews in unity. Amalek's and Haman's purpose is to cause rifts between Jews. Why is it that Jews from the very ends of the earth will see Hashem's salvation on Purim? Nature is Hashem's Purim costume. The same way that we have a hora'as sha'ah in Halachah so too, there can be a temporary injunction in the running of nature (e.g., the splitting of the red sea); however, Hashem runs the world through the hidden miracles of nature.
