Description

Reb Eliyah, from the Sod Yesharim, Parshas Mikeitz, 5757 (1997). What does the Shabbos ner (candle) have to do with the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple)? A ner can create light only in a particular place in the darkness. Torah is called 'ohr' (light) because it completely obliterates the darkness. 'Ner Hashem' means that in the nishmas (the neshama of) Am Yisrael has the quality of Yud-Kei-Vav-Kei - was, is, and will be. In this world, a person who is really seeking will be able to find that there is one source of existence.
