Description

There is no darkness that can hide the light of Hashem from the Jewish people. Lichtige (shining, illuminating) Jews. The relationship between a husband and a wife, and similarly between Hashem and the Jewish people consists of much more than the "list" of things, the chores and responsibilities we have towards each other. The meaning of "Anochi" (I) - giving of myself, investing myself, my soul, my light into the relationship. The original way of davening (praying) - speaking to Hashem in our own words from our honest emotions, without the need for a formalized siddur book and an ever-growing machzor (holiday prayer book). As the naturaly light of the relationship receeded, new and more "chores" were added. The establishment of the basic nussach (format) of davening by the Men of the Great Assembly. The fight of the Greeks against Bnei Yisrael was about exactly one point. How did Hashem prepare us for the long, dark and difficult exile? With great souls who revealed, over the generations, increasingly the inner light of Yiddishkeit and mitzvos. Shne'ur - the two lights, to counteract the double darkness. Seeing the light in the people we love and in ourselves.
