Description

In this Pshat shiur for the Aggadeta on Masechet Berachot 7a: we will study the testimony of Rebby Yishmael ben Elisha, the Kohen Gadol, describing his encounter with Hashem or His angel. What are we meant to learn from this encounter? What does it mean that Hashem prays? That Hashem asks the Kohen for his Beracha? In the second half of the shiur we will derive from the aftermath of the sin of the Egel HaZahav that one must find the right time to pacify an angry man. We will study the insights of HaRav Kook into the meanings & messages of these Aggadic statements. At the end of the shiur we will introduce the next Aggadeta re: the moment of Divine anger. What does it mean that Hashem gets angry? Is there a set daily moment of Divine Za'am?
