Description
In this intro to the mitzva of Teshuva, we will begin with a verse in Mishlei, which according the Gemora is the source for the constant ongoing obligation of introspection and Teshuva, an obligation which the Ramban singles out in his famous legacy/letter to his son, Igesres HaRamban. Obviously the Ramban views this obligation as paramount. We wonder if the verse in Nitzavim "Ki HaMitzva HaZos" is the source for the obligation of Teshuva. In this shiur we will analyze the words of the Rambam at the beginning of Hilchos Teshuva and try to determine what is the precise definition of this mitzva. Is it Viduy, Teshuva She'ba'lev, or the combination of the two? If the latter is correct, there may be a requirement to verbalize both חרטה and קבלה
