Description
In this shiur on the sugya of אנינות in Berachot we will study the opinion of Rabenu Tam who establishes the exclusive obligation of the בעל to bury his wife, an obligation which nutralizes the obligation of the other relatives. We will study the ruling of Rabenu Tam from a) the perspective of the Safek of Tos', and b) from the perspective of the Rosh. Would Rabenu Tam's decision have been otherwise if he were in the same city as his late sister? Why should it make any difference since in any case he's not involved in burial? Finally we will analyze the concept of לועג לרש. Does it apply only to a mitzva act performed in the presence of the deceased, or even to the act of exposing a חפצא של מצוה in proximity to the dead?
