Description

After studying the parallels between the first statement of Creation and the first of the 10 Commandments, we delve into the meaning behind the first of the Dibrot: "Anochi Hashem Elokecha." We explore how the first commandment encompasses all of the other commandments and how even the first letter of the first word contains within it the entire essence of the Dibrot. We contrast this with the opening letter of the Torah as well. (Part of HaMidrasha at QC, OU-JLIC's Torah learning program for women at Queens College.)
