For our study of Masechet Ketuvot 3a-3b, we will discuss two major issues: One: on which days of the week can a בתולה get married? It must be the night proceeding the ישיבת בית דין. Once the takana of Ezra terminated, any day fits the bill. But what about marriages on Fridays? Beis Din does not convene on Shabos. Two: why was the decree changed due to a danger situation? What was the danger? Would the mitzva of Kiddush Hashem apply to such a situation?
