Description

Can a Tefillas Chol substitute for a Tefillas Shabos or for a Tefillas Musaf? We will dedicate the bulk of this shiur to analyze the two נוסחאות of the Rambam presented by the Kesef Mishna. We will prove one version of the Rambam acc to which a Tefillas Chol suffices on Shabos, based on the logic our our sugya in Berachos & based on the Rambam that if he reminds himself in the middle of one of the berachs he should complete the beracha. Yet the 2nd version of the Rambam seems obvious from the fact that if one failed to mention the day of Rosh Chodesh or Chol HaMoed he must repeat the Amidah. The requirement of מעין המאורע is absolutely critical. We will offer a possible reconciliation accepting the logic of both versions of the Rambam.
