We continue our study of Masechet Chulin 100a, and our goal is to come closer to an understanding of the Machlokes between Rabba bar bar Chana & Rav. They seem to be debating two seperate issues: חנ"ן ומין במינו. In the first case, does חנ"ן apply to all Issurim or is it a principle that applies exclusively to Basar BeChalav? Note that this understanding cannot be tolerated by Rabbenu Efrayim who is absolutely convinced that Chanan is a Halacha limited to Basar BeChalav. The second issue that divides Rabba & Rav is: do we pasken like Rebby Yehuda that מין במינו אפילו באלף לא בטל? Rabba will insist that the Halacha is like the Chachamim & Bitul does apply to Min BeMino.
