Description

We will study the blatt for Masechet Kiddushin 5b-6b: the significance of the action & the word, אמירה ונתינה. What if he did the נתינה but the אמירה was her's? Which formulations of a language of Kiddushin are valid and qualify as לשונות של קידושין? What if he spoke to her about marriage and in that context he gave her קידושין? Can the context substitute for a formal declaration? What is the law if his language is incomplete, e.g. he omitted the word לי? This is sthe famous sugya called ידיים. What if his language indicated that he becomes her husband? Or in גירושין he removes himself from the marriage? Are there situations in which the Halacha differentiates 2 dimensions of עבדות, the monetary ownership and the Issur status of the עבד?
