Description

For the sugya in Masechet Chullin 98a, we will study the subject of an unkosher egg that was cooked with 60 kosher eggs. The main issue: which category of a ביצה אסורה that fell into a Ta'aroves requires שישים? The two categories are: One, an egg laid by a non-kosher egg; Two, an egg laid by a kosher birs that had inside it a chick (אפרוח) which died without שחיטה and is a Neveilah. The sugya assumes that in the first category there is no need for Bittul at all since there is no טעם that comes from the egg that is absorbed by the other eggs in the pot. In contrast, when the egg has a chick inside, the egg is defined as בשר, in this case Neveilah, and in fact it does give טעם and requires שישים.
