Description

For Masechet Ketuvot 7b we will address two topics: Defining the nature of ברכת אירוסין, is this a Birchas HaMitzva, a Birchas HaShevach, or a combination thereof? Is this a ברכה קצרה or a ברכה ארוכה? Meaning, is there one, single theme, or multiple themes? The difference is does the Beracha require a חתימה? Our 2nd issue is: are the Sheva Berachos an integral part of Birchat HaMazon? Does the Seudah obligate one in 11 Berachos instead of the regular four? The Poskim argue as to whether one cup of wine serves bot Mitzvos, or do we require one כוס for Birchas HaMazon & a 2nd cup for the Sheva Berachos. Another controversy: can 7 Berachos be recited without a סעודה? A third debate: may one leave the wedding before 7 Berachot?
