Based on a Torah of Rav Kook. Galus Mitrzrayim is the Galus of HaKaras HaTov; on Seder night it becomes freed and even the Rasha comes to the Seder due to a sense of HaKaras HaTov for Hashem's Chessed to him. HaKaras HaTov fuels our search to find Hashem's face due to everything he does for us, and ultimately this leads us to a higher sense of HaKaras HaTov which becomes awakened by eating the Matzah. That's when we encounter Eliyah HaNavi, who represents this sense this higher sense of HaKaras HaTov which comes from a deep place within the Neshama. How the Ben Tam connects to the purpose of the Seder, whereas the Ben Chochom misses the boat because he is lost in his Chochma.
