Description

For Massechet Chullin 99b-100a we will study the sugya of the Gid HaNashe which was cooked in a Taaroves of Heter: how do we evaluate Bittul? Which vegetable shall we chose to represent the Heter? The main study for this shiur will be the question: is Bittul unnecessary? This the the great controversy regarding Gid HaNashe: does the Gid have a Ta'am? We will study the insight of the Rashba re: the root of this controversy, as well as the insights of Tos' as to the נפק"מ between the two views regarding giving the Gid as a gift to a non-Jew or selling the thigh with the Gid to a nonJew who is paying full price. Is Gid to be subsumed under בשר & is included in the Heter of a Neveila, or is it a separate entity & is אסור בהנאה?
