For Masechet Bava Kamma 7a-b we will study the Kal Vachomer of R' Akiva establishing the Halacha of מיטב in the case of Hekdesh. Are we dealing with an animal of Hekdesh that was damaged? Or the case of one who owes money to Hekdesh by virtue of his pledge? Most of today's shiur will be dedicated to collecting from מיטב in the cases of the ניזק, the wife, ot the מלוה. How do we classify the Karka, is it based on the above mentioned individuals, or on the objective market value? This shiur requires a basic understanding that acc to R' Akiva the Mazik pays from his עידית, i.e. the best quality karka he owns. The sugya raises an alternative possibility requiring the Mazik to live up to objective standards of עידית.
