Description

For Masechet Bava Kamma 33a we will study two major topics and introduce the third. First, liability for the death of someone who was granted permission to enter the shop of the carpenter or the Ba'al HaBayis. Does the הורג go into Galus? Does he pay כופר if his animal killed the victim? We will discuss the case of a laborer who entered to collect his wages. Second, the Mishna establishes the rules for calculating compensation in mutual damages, i.e. if two oxen damaged each other, or if a man and an animal damaged each other. We will begin our study of the great controversy re: does the Nizak own partnership in the ox that damaged him?
