Description

The Mishna & sugya in Bava Kamma 41a-b discusses the case where the animal killed a person, the animal is stoned & if it is a מועד, the owner pays כופר. But how could the animal reach the stage of Muad if it is stoned after the first killing of a person? We will discuss a long list of possible scenarios in which the animal was not put to death until the fourth נגיחה. Each suggestion has a questionable premise which must be analyzed. We will study the status of the meat of the animal after it was stoned, can one enjoy any benefits from the carcass? What if the animal was slaughtered after the judgement was handed down? We will study the verse ובעל השור נקי. What do we derive from this verse? Was there a possibility that a Tam pays חצי כופר?
