This is a Halacha shiur for the Three Weeks that will address the question: how is one meant to construct a house & fulfill the requirement of זכר לחורבן? May he cover his home with pure white, unadulterated plaster? Is he permitted to have an artist draw paintings on his walls? Must he leave a section of his wall unfinished & expose the concrete that would normally be covered by white plaster? We will suggest three leniencies of the Rambam. The sugya in Bava Basra will require leaving a square one אמה by one אמה unfinished. The poskim are troubled: why are so many Jews careless about fulfilling this Halachik requirement? We will investigate a number of the solutions offered.
