Description

For Masechet Ketuvot 10b-11b we will study the definitons that determine the value of the Ketuva, is it one or two hundred zuz? The bulk of this shiur will offer an introduction to the sugya of Ger Katan, the child who undergoes conversion under the auspices of the Beis Din. The latter provides the דעת for Geirus in event that the child's father is not available; the Mother brought the child for Geirus. The most crucial issue in this sugya is: does this Geirus operate on a DeOraisa level? Or is this a Rabbinic Geirus? The latter is compelling since how can שליחות operate on behalf of a non-Jew.
