Description

The subject of Masechet Bava Kamma 72a-b is the Halachik definition of Shechita, does each segment of the act, from its very inception, have the status of Shechita? Or does the status of Shechita emerge only at the conclusion of the Shechita? We will study the relevance of this issue to two areas: Daled VaHeh in the case of a thief, & Chullin BaAZara. The latter prohibition engenders an Issur Hana'ah which excludes Daled VeHeh. In the 2nd part of today's shiur we offer an Intro to the sugya of Eid Zomem למפרע הוא נפסל, the great debate between Abaye and Rava. We will study two approaches to Rava & the differences between them.
