Description

The sugya in Masechet Bava Kamma 78b-79a addresses a variety of issues: One, thieves & partnership, if the partners stole an animal, or if the thief stole an animal owned by partners. Two, what constitutes שיור to remove the obligation of the thief to pay Daled VaHeh? The thief sold the stolen animal but left for himself ownership over the fetus. And what if the slaughtering was done by an 'agent' of the thief? What if the thief amputated the leg of the animal before selling it? We will begin the new Mishna: did the thief make a Kinyan and remove the animal from the property of the owner? Where did the thief slaughter the animal? What if the thief gave the animal to the Kohen as Pidyon, to his creditor as payment, to a Shomer to guard it?
