Description

The sugya in Masechet Bava Kamma 86a addresses many issues relevant to the laws of a חובל בחבירו: One, a reversible injury, i.e. within the forseeable future the victim will be fully healed. Does the victim collect Nezek (compensation)? Two, the debate between Abaye & Rava re: who collects what in the case of an assault of one's Eved. Three, payment for בושת in the cases of a sleeping person who will only find out if & when he wakes up that he was humiliated. Four, the case of a child who was 'embarrassed' is there payment? Five, is there a difference between a rich man who was humiliated & a poor person who suffered the same action?
