For Bava Kamma 88a-b we will study the case of one injured another's עבד כנעני, does the Chovel pay for humiliation? This will lead to the great debate between R' Yehuda & Chachamin regarding the status of an עבד כנעני vis-a-vis בושת & other Dinim. Whereas R' Yehuda maintains that insofar as the Eved is excluded from the Jewish family & is thus excluded from אחוה, the Chachamim include the Eved in אחוה because he is obligated in Mitzvos like a woman. This will raise issues with regard to the status of the Eved re: testimony. The sugya dedicates much effort to derive the exclusion of the Eved from testimony whilst including the convert in עדות. We'll begin the sugya of a woman who gives away her נכסי מלוג, is this a valid transaction?
