For Masechet Bava Metzia 10a-b we will address two issues: can one acquire ownership on an object that is הפקר (ownerless) on behalf of another? Meaning, do we equate this case with the תופס who confiscates the objects of the borrower on behalf of one particular lender to the detriment of the other lenders who desire grabbing those objects of the לוה? R' Yochanan says that an ownerless object is different since the one who lifts the object could have taken it for himself, i.e. מיגו. The second issue for today is the The Rabbinic establishment of the Kinyan of ד' אמות. What is the scope of this Kinyan? Does it apply to a קטנה, a young girl? In this context we will learn alot about the nature of a קנין חצר.
