Description

We continue the sugya in Masechet Bava Matzia 25a-b. Groups of coins were found in a deliberate formation. Either they were stacked and rise like a tower with the widest coin on the bottom, or the were in a circle or a line. All these indicate that the owner left the coins deliberately expecting to return & retrieve them. If there is a Siman, either the arrangement of the coins, the number of coins, or the location where he left them, the finder must announce his find lest someone take away the coins. What if there is a doubt as to whether the lost object was placed there deliberately, should the finder take the object & try to find its owner? We will study the case of the birds that were tied by their wings and found.
