The sugya in Masechet Bava Matzia 49a-b analyzes the controversy between Rav & R' Yochanan re: a partial down payment, is it קונה the entire item or only a part that corresponds to the value of the down payment. This will be relevant to the case of a משכון that is worth half the amount of the loan, would there be Shmittah to nullify the loan or not? We will study another debate regarding the negative category of מחוסר אמנה, does it apply to one who reneges on a verbal promise? Finally we will introduce the new Mishna of אונאה.
