For Masechet Bava Matzia 59a-b we will study the laws and the severity of the issur of אונאת דברים, not to cause anguish or embarrassment to one's fellow Jew. Especially to be sensitive to the feelings of one's wife. This Aggadeta will offer a recipe for Shalom Bayis. We will study the famous episode of Rebby Eliezer who refused to accept the view of the Chachamim regarding the status of an oven that was made of pieces of earthenware that were connected with sand. How did R' Eliezer invoke Divine miracles and even a Heavenly voice to prove that his view is the correct one? Why was he rejected by the Sages? How did he ultimately cause the death of his brother in law the Prince of Israel? What is לא בשמים היא?
