Two sugyos for Bava Metzia 78b. One, finding the source for R' Meir's rule that המשנה מדעת בעה"ב, one who violated the terms of agreement becomes a גזלן and is responsible to compensate the owner no matter why the animal died. Can we find the context in which R' Meir established this rule? Two, the debate between Rav & Shmuel regarding the rented animal that was confiscated by the King's officers, is the owner responsible to provide a replacement animal for the renter? If so, under what conditions?
