Description

We offer here an introduction to the sugya in Masechet Niddah 65a-b, the sugya of דם מחמת תשמיש, woman who sees דם נדה that was brought on as a result of תשמיש. This happened three consecutive times which establishes a חזקה and requires that the marriage be terminated with the giving of a גט. Can she marry a 2nd husband? If so, why? What if this patter continues under her 2nd & even 3rd husbands? We will begin our study of the בדיקת שפופרת which - if the results is negative - permits her to remain married to the third husband. We will offer two approaches to the question - acc to the view of Rashi - why can't this examination save her marriage to her 1st husband as well?
