Description

There is a concept of מצותו עדיין קיימת which allows one to recite a Bracha over Talis or Tefillin as long as he is wearing these. Does this rule apply to Ner Chanuka? Can one recite the brachos over the Ner as long as the Ner Chanuka is still burning? This would only be relevant before תכלה רגל. The Rosh in Pesachim classifies Chanuka as a מצוה שיש בה שיהוי, I.e. a mitzva whose fulfillment extends over a period of time. This is so because of the קיום of נר דלוק which applies to Chanuka. But because we pasken כבתה אין זקוק לה, the original act of Hadlaka is gone immediately after he has lit the Ner. The extended mitzva only applies to the קיום but no to the mitzva act. Do we recite a Beracha over a קיום? Or only over a מעשה?
