Shalom,
Rebbi mentioned in the shiur (I am not sure if this one or another one, but one on Shmot) that there was a rabbi in the 16th century that drashed that "worship Elokim on this mountain" (Shmot 3:12) was an allusion to the chet ha;egel and the other rabbis wanted to put him in cherem. Rebbi mentioned it might be found in the teshuvot of the Maharitatz and I was wondering if I could get a little bit more specific citation (siman perhaps). I would love to see it inside. I feel like many people are going to far in their "interpretations" of the text and this is quite an example of going too far.
Thanks,
Larry
