Description

In this shiur, we learn the Chinuch on two mitzvos in parshas Shelach: tziztis ציצית and ve-lo sasuru ולא תתורו. Tzitzis as an eved-Hashem identifier; totality of all 613 mitzvos; totality of both human dimensions (physical גוף and spiritual נשמה). Asserting one's avodas Hashem in the face of temptation and distraction; the power of even one decision, based on מצוה גוררת מצוה and vice versa. [This shiur is one of a weekly series of 25-minute shiurim on "Mitzva and Meaning", each focussing on the hashkafa behind a mitzva in the parsha, using the Sefer ha-Chinuch as a primary text. These shiurim are shared live via conference call on Tuesdays at 12:30 PM (800-747-5150, access 1259096#).]
