<p>I would like to protest R' Rakefet's charecterization of a Rosh Yeshiva and Gaon Olam who spread so much Torah and gave so much tzdaka and did so much chesed in his lifetime as a "...50 percent gangster". The Gemara [ברכות י"ט] says "<span style="color: #222222; font-family: Narkisim; font-size: 18.9px;"> </span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Narkisim; font-size: 18.9px;">אמר רבי יהושע בן לוי כל המספר אחר מטתן של תלמידי חכמים נופל בגיהנם". This is even if what the person is saying is true. Instead of defaming the Rosh Yeshiva, R' Rakefet should instead learn and teach his [i.e. the Rosh Yeshiva's] tremendously deep Torah. It is disgraceful to talk about someone when all one knows are the shadier sides without knowing the content of his Torah genius. </span></p> <p><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Narkisim; font-size: 18.9px;">Rav Michel Zilber who is a well known Charedi Israeli Gadol said after the passing of this RY [who was his chavrusa] "I am saying of front of a sefer Torah that this man was a Tzadik." </span></p> <p><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Narkisim; font-size: 18.9px;">Tehillim 31-19: </span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: David; font-size: 21px; text-align: -webkit-center;">תֵּאָלַמְנָה שִׂפְתֵי שָׁקֶר הַדֹּבְרוֹת עַל צַדִּיק עָתָק בְּגַאֲוָה וָבוּז</span></p>

Thank you Rabbi Rakeffet for dedicating the shiur to the memory of my beloved grandfather. We sorely miss our Papoo and it was very gratifying to hear the kind words you said in his memory. Keep up the great work! Rabbi Moshe Maimon (Jackson NJ)

I am currently out of the office and plan on returning, Sunday, October 27th. If you are trying to send a message to Rabbi Rakeffet, please note that I will not be checking my email often. I urge you to send only truly significant emails and please understand there will be a delay in response to your messages or queries. Best wishes for a healthy holiday, Cheri
