Parshas Re'eh al pi Meshech Chochmah, this is a חזרה shiur on one of the many presentations of Rav Meir Simcha for Parshas Re'eh, and is focused on two issues: One, is there a Mitzvas Esah of dwelling in Eretz Yisrael?; Two, the insights of the Vilna Gaon on the two "power" that Klal Yisrael are endowed with to bring about salvation and freedom from Galus. These are the powers of Tefilla and Talmud Torah. These correspond to פדיון (redeeming) and הצלה (salvation) both mentioned by Yishayahu in his rebuke of Yisrael. Which of these two powers are greater? Talmud! The Meshech Chochma seeks to explain why.
