Description
Presented by the Sacks-Herenstein Center at YU. Rabbi Dr. Jacob J. Schacter reflected upon the dual feelings which accompany one's Passover experience in his lecture, "Exile and Redemption: The Dialectic of the Pesach Seder." He explained how various items of the seder -- matzah, charoset, marror, and wine -- serve as a microcosm of the human condition's simultaneous experience of servitude and redemption, blessings and challenges. Rabbi Schacter reminded us not to only focus on the formal compliance to the measurements and timing of the law, but to the feelings and experience of the Pesach Seder.
