We begin the new Mishna of those items that require השבה and the sugya in Masechet Bava Matzia 25a. The Gemorah presents a contradiction between the Mishna and the Beraisa regarding the question: is the סימן on the utensil valid for the fruits or coins nearby? The sugya offers a number of alternative approaches to reconcile this contradiction and the goal of this shiur is to understand these various approaches. According to Tos' the crux of the issue is the case where some fruits remained inside the utensil and did not slide out while there are fruits that are on the ground outside the utensil. Do we define all the fruits as one unit of השבה?
