Description

Masechet Sanhedrin 7b: listening to one litigant in the absence of the other litigant.Does this apply to a Beit Din or even to a Judge who can adjudicate the case outside the framework of Beit Din? This would apply to a יחיד מומחה who judges alone. What is the source for this prohibition? What if the litigant gives equal time to the claims of the other litigant?
