Masechet Sotah 3a-b: More on the dispute regarding רשות או חובה in the case of the Kohen burying one of his close relatives. Why would the Torah require the Kohen to contaminate himself for the burial of his relative? Why not rely on the Chevra Kaddisha? We will share the insights of the Rav on the essence of Aveilus and the obligation of the Kohen to desecrate his קדושת כהונה. Towards the end of the shiur we will touch on the status and issues of organ transplants in Medical Halacha.
