I think its a big mistake to call out hundreds of thousands of mezuzah's, teffilin, sifrei torah that have been written with the 'ksav chabad', without actually discussing it with expert (chabad) sofrim. Here is a link that i think its important to read, that clarifies that Rabbi Mendelowitz's own teacher appreciated the 'ksav chabad', and for generations, the world has used such ksav, also there are no problems in halacha at all with the ksav.
