This breakout session took place at The Student Medical Ethics Society of Yeshiva University's Fifth Annual Fuld Family Medical Ethics Conference, "A Beautiful Mind: Jewish Approaches to Mental Health," which took place on October 31st, 2010. This session, featured first-hand accounts features from members of the community who have struggled with serious mental illness. Sam Shuman, who suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Sarah Steinberg, who suffers from clinical depression, speak about the emotional roller coasters they have faced and how they have chosen to address them. Following these accounts, Dr. Yael Muskat discussed how to cope with mental illness challenges and how the Jewish community should address them.
