For Masechet Bava Batra 87b we begin the Mishna which records a debate between Rebby Yehuda & Chachamim re: the father sent his young son to purchase a flask of oil. The money and the oil was lost & the flask was broken. Is the storekeeper liable for sending the money, the oil, and the flask with the child who can hardly be relied upon to provide the proper supervision over these objects of value? Or is the father solely responsible since it was he who sent the child on this שליחות?
