Description

This Special Shiur is a moving tribute by Rabbi Rakeffet to Zachary Baumel, ז'ל who went missing in the Battle of Sultan Yacoub during the 1982 Lebanon War. As well, Rabbi Rakeffet describes his halakhic innovation which allowed designation of the missing soldiers from that battle as "Presumed Dead; Place of Burial Unknown" (מקל'ן), and which is currently used by the IDF to declare a missing soldier "Presumed Dead" in similar cases.
