The Jewish tradition teaches us that adversity and tragedy are only apparent - when confronted with setbacks great or small, we should realize that their ultimately good. Here Chazal offer two proverbs: Kol D'Avid Rachmana L'Tav Avid: which says that seemingly negative events ultimately lead to the good. and Gam Zu L'Tova: which says that the seemingly negative event is in fact inherently positive.
