Description

Sources showing that labelling the ketubah as biblical is difficult despite the biblical word "mohar", and suggesting a hybrid model in which the concept is biblical but the implementation is rabbinic, with an overall goal of creating security for a woman in her marriage, and elevating the character of marriage with a strong bond, consistent with a formulation of the mitzvah of kiddushin. Drawing heavily on ideas from Rav Michael Rosensweig, as I understood them.
