Rav Kook foresaw that if we don't succeed in connecting secular Zionism with her original roots in the Tanach and Judaism, within 2-3 generations their children will begin doubting their ideology, perhaps even questioning the legitimacy of their Zionism. This clarification which Israeli society is undergoing today, regarding the balance between the Jewish and democratic aspects of the State of Israel, is an important stage and development of the geula process.
