Broadcast on WebYeshiva (https://webyeshiva.org) on Tisha B'av 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The broadcast combined live explanations with pre-recorded video clips from a live tour given in Jerusalem's old city. Exploring the impressive remains from the end of the Second Temple period, we asked the eternal question: "Why was the Land lost??" (Jeremiah 9:11). By reading some rabbinic texts in the context of the archeological record, we suggest an answer
