The Orchot Tzaddikim interestingly considers "Memory" as a character trait, clearly inferring that we should not accept "forgetfulness" as a "given", but there are significant ways to improve ourselves in this field. In this opening class, he deals with the importance of memory and the severity of forgetting in daily life. Among other points, the class deals with the importance of remembering details of our financial interactions and interesting stories, & the educational importance of sharing them, to cull the benefits of these Godly sent personal experiences or things we heard, and to even pass them on to our children & others.
Learning on the Marcos and Adina Katz YUTorah site is sponsored today by Orie Shapiro in memory of his parents, Immanuel ben Chayim and Rivka bas Reb Yitzchak and by Judy & Mark Frankel & family in memory of their dear son & brother משה יהודה ז"ל בן מאיר אליהו upon his fifth yahrzeit, and in memory of their dear father מרדכי בן הרב משה יהודה ע"ה and by Shulamith & Joel Cohn & family לזכר נשמת דינה כהן, Diana Cohn
