While listening to Rabbi Rakeffet's lesson of November 8th he quoted a source by the name of Chesed L'Avrohom. One of the students was asked to determine the name of the author and the answer that the student mistakenly quoted was The Chassidic Rebbe of Radomsk.

While it is true that the Rebbe of Radomsk did author a sefer that he named Chesed L'Avrohom, this sefer is a chassidic sefer on the Torah portions and the Moadim. The responsa sefer Chesed L'Avrohom was authored by Rabbi Avrohom ben Tzvi Hirsch Teumim, who was the Rabbi in the town of Butchutch in Poland or Galicia. This is the sefer that Rabbi Oshry was referring to in his Teshuva.

Please let Rabbi Rakeffet know that this rabbi was not a Rebbe in Radomnsk but he was an Av Bes Din in Poland or Galicia in Butchutch, which was the post previously occupied by the famous posek Reb Avrom Dovid who was the author of Aishel Avrohom on Shulchan Aruch.

The correct name of the sefer quoted by Rabbi Oshry is Shailos U'Teshuvos Chesed L'Avrohom Mehadura Tinyana, Chelek Yora Deah siman Pey Daled (84). This was published in 1898.

I am an avid listener of Rabbi Rakeffet and feel that he would appreciate the correction.

Rabbi Mendel Fleischer
Pomona, NY
