We will study the second mishna on 5a, and begin our analysis of the controversy between Chachamim & Rebby Yehuda and address the question: why does Rebby Yehuda let the Eidim Zomemim off the hook? According to Rashi's understanding of the Mishna the answer is clear. But how did Rabenu Chananel understand Rebby Yehuda? In the 2nd part of the shiur we will study a string of statements of Rava: did the Eidim take a flying carpet or a concord plane and reach the west in record time to witness the murder? Could they have super vision and see what the Mazimim claim they couldn't possibly have seen?
